People Who Blog About God
Say it. Say GOD. G-O-D. Not G-d. Not G*d. Don't drop a letter so that "those" kinds of people won't find your post with a random Google or Yahoo search. Have some guts. Stand up. If you're going to mention God, give him his due and just say it. God. GOD. GOD.
Sincerely,
D-n

I've been told that some religions do not allow you to write god's name, thus the g-d and various versions thereof.

Seriously - relax. You are guessing wrongly why they are using a method of writing that you aren't familiar with.
To quote wikipedia on the subject:
Most Orthodox Jews, and many Jews of other denominations, believe it wrong to write the word "God" on any substance which can be destroyed. Therefore, they will write "G-d" or "Gd" as what they consider a more respectful symbolic representation.
I know, I'm quoting Wikipedia, but it really is commonly known. Non Jews may use that form of writing as a guesture of respect - much like capitalising 'Him' when referring to G-d.
People can have strong opinions on a subject, but it would help if they were educated strong opinions!
